Matthew 5:48
Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
It is possible to be perfect. It’s not an “I wonder if I can do it.” Jesus never says stuff and leaves you hanging. He gives a lot of instructions. Can anyone really be holy? Yes, we can, the only way it is possible is to come into agreement with God’s word. It takes a process for it to happen as sometimes when we read we separate ourselves from scripture because we are not ready yet to receive the word. Sometimes we may feel judged or unloved. This is not God’s intention. The word of God guides us on how to follow His commands. Don’t feel condemned by the word, don’t feel like an outcast nor that God is punishing you. See it as love and a provision of warning to keep you from making mistakes and providing a way to help you get out of your troubles.
Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. When you meet upon scripture that makes you uncomfortable, take it as a conviction to change instead of
Condemnation
Condemnation causes someone to hide, to run away from or to close your mind off from something. Turn that feeling into a conviction and say “Lord You are right! Let me see if there’s any way in which this applies to me, so I can be perfect even as my Father in heaven is perfect.” This is a method of coming in agreement with God’s word. God comes with love and love brings understanding. Love covers a multitude of sins. How we relate to God in the spiritual realm, is much different than how we approach the physical world. God is love and anything He says to us is because of love, He is our father and cares about our wellbeing. We must see these things from a love point of view and not a condemning point of view.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 15:13
Greater love has no one than this than to lay down one’s life for his friends.
God wants you in heaven spending eternity with Him. Any time you read scriptures that challenge you, just remember one thing. It is because God loves me and He wants me to spend eternity with Him in heaven. When God gives you correction thank Him for it and move on.
Psalm 1
“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly.”
We will not listen to anyone’s counsel that does not bring glory to God, or our own stubbornness and selfishness, or physical desires. We will cry out to God and will cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. We will continue resisting the devil by casting down every imagination. God is not trying to hurt me so I will come in obedience to God’s word and I will be holy as He is holy.
ACTION PLAN
First step: Shut down every demonic influence/ seed.
Second step: Cancel and cast down every demonic thought.
NOTE: You will not always have the strength to fight back, you will lose at times but that is no reason to give up. God will see your efforts and help you.
Third step: Come into agreement with God’s word.
AFFIRM
I will no longer be condemned by the word of God but I will be encouraged and convicted. Just repent quickly and take the courage that you are trying!
